Doug Kinney (Michael Keaton) solves the problem of there not being enough hours in the day for work and family by allowing a geneticist to clone him. This works fine for a time until the clone decides to make a copy of himself to lighten his own load. The fact that all the Dougs want to spend time with the same wife (Andie MacDowell) means that trouble really begins to multiply.

An inevitable idea: a working man (Michael Keaton) who can't meet all his professional and family responsibilities has himself cloned. It works so well having one copy of himself to take charge of matters at the office that he makes another copy who takes care of the home front. Pretty soon, different aspects of Keaton's personality are emphasised in the different clones: the labourer becomes a macho creep and the domestic god becomes rather feminine. A third clone, struck from the duplicates instead of the original, becomes like a photocopy of a photocopy: inferior. Multiplicity is a timely comedy should be better than it is, but special-effects requirements are so labour-intensive that most scenes feel stiff and leaden. Keaton is good in all four parts, and in certain gee-whiz effects scenes, where he even high-fives himself, he pulls off a minor miracle or two. (Of course, a kid did the same thing in Disney's 1998 remake of The Parent Trap.) --Tom Keogh

Wonderfully facetious indeed although dated a thoroughly charming film in which Mr K's comedic attributes excel. A greatly underrated actor who's quirky charismatic persona leads this to be a great antidote to any doldrums! BUY IT!
Let me start with the obvious: this film is of it's time. It's slight, whimsical, wish-fulfillment fun. There is no great need to place too much faith in the science, which in fact is part of the fun also. Who would've thought that cloning might be like photocopying, crossed with vacu-forming? Michael Keaton does very good work presenting very different personas, well distinguished from eachother, while retaining their sources in the original character's makeup. Andy McDowell's just along for the ride, but fills her role well. It's really an adult comedy, Keaton is very good at the sharp dialogue and asides, a child might be mystified by much of what passed, while laughing uproariously at the visual humour.
I love all the movies Michael Keaton has been in plus if you love comedy please buy this because I loved Beetlejuice i recommend this for anyone to watch & own.
Co.edia divertida con Andy McDowell y Michel Dugglas, dos buenos actores que encarnan un matrimonio algo atareados, donde él consigue dar con una solución. Clonarse! Quién no ha pensado eso alguna vez?...
